NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR) represent a key funding source to support large scale, high impact applied research. A large number of these grants are currently running at the University of Manchester. The scheme has a new Director (Professor Elaine Hay) and she has made it clear that the scheme is looking to encourage new, innovative bids, especially using advanced methods to answer clinically important questions.

The Applied Health Domain at The University of Manchester has arranged for Elaine and the PGfAR team to visit the University on Wednesday 30 October 2019 to discuss these changes, and to give staff an opportunity to ask questions about these exciting developments.
The session will involve talks, Q+A, more interactive sessions and lunch. A rough outline for the day is as below:
