This Discover Midwifery Day offers the chance to gain first-hand experience of the Midwifery degree programme at the University of Manchester. Participants will work closely with existing students and staff, gaining an insight into both the midwifery profession and the life of a student midwife through lectures, workshops and hands-on activities. The day offers a fantastic opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the demands and rewards of life as a student midwife. You can also pick up hints and tips about how to make a successful application for this popular course, whilst gaining practical experience of how teaching and learning at Manchester.
Being a midwife is both a very rewarding career and highly responsible role, working with women and their families as they progress through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Effective midwives must be skilled communicators, knowledgeable professionals and highly competent in all clinical activities.
This Discover Midwifery Day will enable you to meet clinical midwives, midwifery lectures and students currently on the programme. You will be able to sample a lecture, a group tutorial and some practical skills sessions. The day will help you…
