DESCRIPTION:Do you want to know how to use online tools to access and ana
 lyse UK census data from the UK Data Service?\n\nThe UK Data Service is 
 a rich source of census data. In December\, we are holding a series of t
 hree introductory online workshops aimed at showing census users the key
  tools of accessing and analysing census aggregate data\, flow data and 
 microdata from the UK Data Service. These three workshops are free to at
 tend.\n\nThe workshops will include a presentation\, demonstration\, exe
 rcises and follow-up discussion. Participants will be given worksheets a
 nd use our free online tools to complete the activities.\n\nLevel: Intro
 ductory\nExperience/knowledge required: None\nTarget audience: Anyone in
 terested in using census data to produce basic analyses using census dat
 a for any purpose\, such as for research\, reports or student dissertati
 ons\n\nWorkshop 1: Accessing and analysing census aggregate data\n\n1 De
 cember 2020\, 12.00 – 13.30 GMT\n\nIn this workshop\, we will provide an
  overview of census aggregate data and show how to access them. We will 
 outline the different types of census aggregate data available from the 
 UK Data Service and demonstrate how to explore and analyse these data us
 ing free online query tools. We will also guide you on how to download c
 ensus aggregate data on to your machine. \n\nPresenter: Dave Rawnsley\n\
 nWorkshop 2: Accessing and analysing census flow data\n\n8 December 2020
 \, 12 – 13.30 GMT\n\nIn this workshop\, we will provide an overview of c
 ensus flow data and show how to access them. We will outline the differe
 nt types of census flow data available from the UK Data Service and demo
 nstrate how to explore and analyse these data using the free online quer
 y tool WICID. We will also guide you on how to download census flow data
  on to your machine. \n\nParticipants will use WICID (free online tool) 
 to complete the activities. Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel
  may also be used to assist in achieving some of the exercises’ objectiv

  show how to register in order to access census microdata\, as well as d
 emonstrating how to access census microdata from the UK Data Service usi
 ng the online resources tools. We will also outline the different census
  microdata available from the UK Data Service and show how to explore an
 d analyse these data online using the free online exploration tool Nesst
 ar. We will finally guide you on how to download census microdata on to
