Title: Equations involving the j-invariant and its derivatives.
Abstract: I'll discuss the problem of solvability of equations in a single complex variable involving the j-function and its derivatives. I will give some model-theoretic motivation, and show how some simple cases can be solved. Then I'll focus on Zariski density, explain why that makes the problem harder, and how we can approach it. This is joint work with Sebastian Eterovic and Vincenzo Mantova.
