The University of Manchester will be holding the third annual memorial lecture for Professor Peter Noyce CBE on Monday, 9 December at 5.00pm, in Lecture Theatre 3, Stopford Building, The University of Manchester.

Seminar title: Pharmacy in the 21st century: Mapping the future
Abstract: Christine will reflect on how health services research in pharmacy has contributed to developments in the profession in the last 30 years and consider the critical elements needed to build on this legacy to ensure our profession’s future. She will discuss the interdependency of practice, research and policy and speculate on the need for a common purpose to achieve change.
Biography: Emeritus Professor Christine Bond, University of Aberdeen, BPharm (Hons.) , MEd, PhD, FRPharmS, FFRPS FFPH FRCPE, FRCGP
Professor Christine Bond is Editor of the International Journal of Pharmacy Practice, and Chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Science and Research Board and was previously an elected member of the Scottish Pharmacy Board. From 1996-2012 she was seconded to Grampian Health Board as Chief Pharmaceutical Officer and part time Consultant in Pharmaceutical Public Health in which role she was developing new community pharmacy and general practice based services. She has been awarded well over 100 research grants and has over 250 research publications on the contribution of pharmacy to the delivery of health care, and has a particular interest in the pharmacist’s role in the evidence based, safe and cost effective use of medicines. In 2010 she was awarded the Pharmas Lifetime Achievement Award.
