 xt seminar will take place on 16th September 2015.\n\nFocusing on the th
 eme of 'Falls Prevention & Monitoring\,' this seminar will be an opportu
 nity to hear from Dr Helen Hawley Hague (University of Manchester) and P
 rofessor Dawn Skelton (Glasgow Caledonian University.) Specialising in t
 he area of Falls Prevention\, Helen and Dawn are involved in the ProFouN
 D (Prevention of Falls Network for Dissemination) Thematic Network and t
 he FARSEEING research project which focus on promoting independent livin
 g for older adults and preventing fall-related injuries. \n\nContext: Fa
 lls in older people can lead to a number of problems such as injury\, is
 olation\, anxiety and greater dependence on carers. ProFouND is an EU-fu
 nded initiative dedicated to promoting best practice and innovative solu
 tions for falls prevention amongst European health and social care autho
 rities. Focusing on the potential of ICT devices\, FARSEEING supports be
 tter prediction and identification of falls whilst supporting older peop
 le to live independently. \n\nThis seminar will explore how technology c
 an be used as a tool to prevent falls and to improve the wellbeing of ol
