The North-West Biotech Initiative is delighted to invite you to the 2024 edition of the From PhD to Startup seminar. This year, it will be held in parallel with the NW-IBIC Build a Biotech start-up competition final, providing an incredible opportunity to make contact with not only the From PhD to Startup speakers, but also all the judges, mentors and teams involved in our signature Build a Biotech competition during our networking session (Pizza and Drinks Provided!).
This year’s seminar, held at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology on the 7th of May, will delve into the essential aspects of startup creation and development, and showcase the competition finalists’ potential startup plans and ideas, in the form of an elevator pitch. Come to hear and support your favourite team ideas! One of the cash prizes will be 100% based on the audience vote.
The event will follow the schedule below:
- 4:00 Welcome introduction
- 4:05 Charles Veys - Founder of Fotenix "The most versatile digital plant analysis platform"
- 4:25 Abdul Azam - ASIP and regional lead at the Creator Fund Venture Capital Firm. Talking about: "What investors look for in early-stage startups"
