DESCRIPTION:The University of Manchester Gateway Programme provides a new
  opportunity for Year 7-11 learners within Greater Manchester to partici
 pate in a coherent series of academic enrichment and Higher Education aw
 areness activities.\n\nThe Y8 Familiarisation Day Visit will explore dif
 ferent courses to familiarise learners with the range of subjects offere
 d by universities\, which will be followed by curriculum taster sessions
  across STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering & Maths)\, Medical Huma
 n and Biological Sciences\, and Humanities subject areas. These activiti
 es will provide an exciting\, hands-on experience\, combining teambuildi
 ng\, problem solving and presentation skills. Learners are encouraged an
 d supported by University students who provide positive role models for 
 the pupils.\n
