Title : Welcoming Back Original Affluent Society
Hunter-gatherer studies and along with the idea of "the original affluent societies" having been cast to the fringes of social anthropology following the “revisionist" critiques of 1990s. But new genomic and archaeological data suggests that key elements of the revisionist critique are unsupportable and that there is a good case to re-examine elements of the “primitive affluence” thesis in particular as it applies to southern Africa’s Khoisan peoples.
