We’re delighted to welcome Professor Danielle George, Vice Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Professor of Radio Frequency Engineering at the University of Manchester, to deliver our spring time Lovell Lecture at Jodrell Bank.
Danielle worked here at Jodrell Bank Observatory as a senior Radio Frequency Engineer until 2006 and her expertise in radio frequency and microwave communications has a wide range of applications across a number of industries. She is now involved in the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), is the UK lead for amplifiers for the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA), and has worked with NASA and ESA on the development of instrumentation for researchers exploring the Big Bang.
Danielle presented The Royal Institution 2014 Christmas Lectures, has been appointed an MBE for services to engineering. and was a speaker at the acclaimed TEDGlobal Conference 2015. You’ll also be familiar with her as a guest on the BBC Radio 4 programmes The Life Scientific and The Infinite Monkey Cage.
The event promises to be a fascinating evening of discussion, certainly not to be missed!
