Dr Benjamin August (Senior Director of Daiichi Sankyo's Global Business Development & Licensing Team) will provide an introduction to Daiichi Sankyo, their models for external research partnerships as well as the areas of interest for such research projects. Given the ever increasing complexity of questions scientists strive to answer, one of the lessons learnt is that multiple perspective on a question add to the quality of the answer. No one company will be able to find the best answers, so already in early stages research, Daiichi Sankyo wishes to collaborate with academic scientists.

Biography: Benjamin August is a member of the Global Business Development & Licensing team at Daiichi Sankyo, where he is focused on external innovation. His academic background is a PhD in Cell Biology with focus on immunology, followed by post-doctoral training in hematology and oncology. He has held Medical Affairs and Business Development roles in biotech and pharmaceutical companies for the last 18 years. Benjamin received his executive MBA from Mannheim Business School (Germany) and ESSEC (France). He is currently looking for early stage research across therapy areas and technology platforms that show promise in finding next generation therapeutics.
