Does your company have the expertise to solve some of the Nuclear Decommissioning sector's challenges? Could you help some of the giants of the industry solve their pressing problems by applying your innovations and ideas used for something entirely different?
Businesses can learn how to tap into the multi-billion pound opportunities in the nuclear decommissioning industry at this free event in March.
Nuclear Decommissioning Opportunities will explain how companies can use their expertise to help solve some of the biggest challenges at decommissioning sites across the UK, including Sellafield. The event will also explain how firms can secure funding to bring their ideas to life through the Innovus scheme.
Innovus, which is run by the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and The University of Manchester’s Dalton Nuclear Institute, helps Cumbrian businesses develop new technologies and innovations by offering financial support, technical and business advice and access to facilities.
The scheme, which is supported by Britain’s Energy Coast and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), aims to establish Cumbria as a hub of technology innovation and commercial opportunity.
The following themes will be featured at the event:
• size reduction of contaminated and hazardous items;
• characterisation of buildings, equipment and land;
• access, egress and containment for decommissioning operations;
• decontamination of large scale areas;
• decontamination and decommissioning of porous materials;
• sorting and segregation of hazardous and active waste.
