Title: Blocks of group algebras and silting theory
Abstract: I will start by explaining the general set-up considered in the representation theory of finite groups, in particular the notion of a block. I will then discuss a modification of this set-up where p-local rings are replaced by rings of formal power series. This leads to applications in the silting theory of certain blocks (an area that I will also briefly introduce), which allows us to better understand their derived categories.
