DESCRIPTION:Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the
  most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. \n\nADHD has a n
 egative impact on the quality of life of children and families. Children
  with ADHD often present social skills difficulties. It has been argued 
 that social skills difficulties in children with ADHD may stem from low 
 sensitivity to others’ emotions (especially anger). Research has support
 ed that the ability to recognise emotional expressions is impaired in so
 me children with ADHD. Most studies have examined facial emotion recogni
 tion\, and little is known about emotion recognition from vocal expressi
 ons in children with ADHD. In addition\, little is known on the brain co
 rrelates of vocal anger processing in children with ADHD. \n\nIn the cur
 rent talk I will present empirical evidence from behavioural and brain-b
 ased studies that support the argument of atypical anger processing in A
 DHD. I will discuss the implications of these findings for clinical prac
 tice with children and young people\, with particular emphasis on implic
