DESCRIPTION:Taking place between February and April 2021\, Novel Voices i
 s a five-part\, online series featuring Ellah P. Wakatama in conversatio
 n with 10 debut authors who are helping to shape 2021's literary landsca
 pe.\n\nThe first event\, on 22 February 2021\, will feature writers Meng
  Jin and J.A. Mensah. \n\nMeng Jin is the author of Little Gods\, which 
 expands the future of the immigrant novel even as it holds us in uneasy 
 thrall to the past. Meng Jin’s narrative prose has appeared in Best Amer
 ican Short Stories 2020\, the Pushcart Prize Anthology\, The Threepenny 
 Review\, Ploughshares\, The Bare Life Review\, Vogue\, and elsewhere. A 
 Kundiman Fellow\, she has an MFA from Hunter College\, and received the 
 David TK Wong Fellowship at the University of East Anglia. Jin was born 
 in Shanghai and has lived the UK and the US. \n\nJ.A. Mensah is the auth
 or of Castles from Cobwebs\, a compelling exploration of memory\, race\,
  mothers and the fractured self. J.A. Mensah is a writer of prose and th
 eatre. Her plays have focused on human rights narratives and the testimo
 nies of survivors. Her short stories appear in several collections. Cast
 les from Cobwebs\, her first novel\, won the inaugural NorthBound Book A
