Do you want to know the latest developments in health data from social surveys? Are you interested in research using health data?
This free conference, organised by the UK Data Service in collaboration with UCL and the National Centre for Social Research, will be held in London at UCL on 29 June 2023.
We are running this as an in-person conference in 2023 to enable networking. However, we will run the conference online in 2024 to welcome those who are unable to make the in-person conference this year.
We are very pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for this year's conference is Dr Tamsin Newlove-Delgado of the University of Exeter and Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, who will discuss her use of the Mental Health of Children and Young People in England survey series to understand trends in child mental health.
Attendees will hear updates from the data producers of key UK social surveys (cross-sectional and longitudinal studies) with health-related content, such as:
Health Survey for England
National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal)
Understanding Society
Birth Cohort Studies
English Longitudinal Study of Ageing
and more
There will also be presentations by researchers who have used the data in parallel sessions on the themes of:
Obesity, diet and exercise
Health of children and young people
Ageing
Mental health and wellbeing
Each session will include talks from researchers who have conducted analyses using health data as well as a Q&A.
