An informative session aimed at researchers with an interest in polar research to discuss funding and fieldwork opportunities for UK-based scientists. Speakers will share their experience in carrying out polar fieldwork as well as providing information on how to obtain funding and fieldwork support for conducting your research in the polar regions.
The presentation is intended to:
- Raise awareness of opportunities for UK-based scientists to conduct research in Antarctica or the Arctic, supported by NERC and other funding streams.
- Highlight facilities and logistic support that British Antarctic Survey (BAS) can offer for fieldwork-based (including ship-based) research in the polar regions
- Explain the process for obtaining access to BAS operational and logistics support
