DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted that Professor Marian Knight will be joining 
 us online on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 to share insights into the NIHR P
 rogramme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR) scheme. The session will be
  chaired by Professor Dame Nicky Cullum\, and we’ll also hear insights f
 rom Professor Penny Bee who has experience as a member of the PGfAR revi
 ew panel and as an award holder.\n\n\nPGfAR funds NHS\, public health an
 d social care practitioners to work together with academic partners to t
 ackle health and social care problems\, and provide some stability of fu
 nding to support the long-term development of top quality applied resear
 ch groups. The aim of the scheme is to deliver research findings that wi
 ll lead to clear and identifiable patient\, service user or carer benefi
 ts\, typically through promotion of health and wellbeing\, prevention of
  ill health\, and optimal disease management (including safety and quali
 ty). Programme Development Grants (PDG) are available for researchers to
  carry out targeted preparatory work to strengthen a future full PGfAR a
