Part of the CTIS Research Seminar Series. All welcome, no registration necessary. Abstract: The aim of this interactive seminar is to provide an overview of the particularities of documentary translation, with a specific focus on modern hybrid TV genres such as the ‘docusoap’. Through an analysis and discussion of authentic audiovisual material, it will be demonstrated that the interesting set of challenges posed by these TV programmes can be best tackled by drawing on insights from both audiovisual translation and specialised translation.
