Innovation and creative capacity are essential determinants of economic prosperity in a globalizing, knowledge-based economy. Over the past decade, recognition has grown that even the most global of economic activities remain fundamentally rooted in city-regions as critical sites for organizing economic activity. This volume examines how the underlying social dynamics that influence innovation and knowledge flows in Canadian city-regions contribute to the process of economic transformation and long-term growth in their local economies.
