 \n\nBrian Levy is a Senior Adjunct Professor at the School of Advanced I
 nternational Studies\, Johns Hopkins University\, USA\, and also the Aca
 demic Director of the Graduate School for Development Policy and Practic
 e at the University of Cape Town. He is a researcher on the Effective St
 ates and Inclusive Development programme at the Brooks World Poverty Ins
 titute. \n\nDevelopment@Manchester is the flagship seminar series bringi
 ng together scholars involved in cutting edge research on international 
 development.  It is organised by the Institute for Development Policy an
 d Management for the wider scholarly community at the University of Manc
 hester interested in development.  Tanja Bastia and Piyawadee Rohitarach
 oon are convening the seminar for the 2014/2015 academic year.\n\nThe se
 minar series aims to facilitate dialogue and discussion\, providing a sp
 ace for invited leading development thinkers to share their latest resea
 rch ideas with the University of Manchester’s members of staff and stude
 nts in the School of Environment\, Education and Development (SEED) and
