Come and join us on Monday 6th February 2023 for our 5th annual event, revealing the latest scorecard data, to see how Greater Manchester is faring for gender equality in the last twelve months. Our scorecard is named after Emmeline Pankhurst and Millicent Fawcett, two iconic figures who were among the first leaders of the campaign for women’s suffrage. The scorecard is used within Greater Manchester to conduct annual reviews of gender equality data with the goal of achieving equality across all areas by 2028 - the centenary of equal franchise.

This year we will be celebrating 105 years since Royal Assent of the Representation of the People’s Act 1918 which gave some women the vote. We will also be reflecting on the impact of the cost of living crisis on women & girls across Greater Manchester.

The event will start by highlighting the 10 indicators of the scorecard on women’s equality each themed around key working groups: employment; safety; participation; education; culture and active lives. Data from each of these will also be considered in the context of our cross-cutting theme this year, the ongoing cost of living crisis in Greater Manchester.

Discussions will continue in workshops lead by each working group and feature key speakers who will point to the challenges but also showcase the brilliant work that is being done to further gender equality across GM.

Together we will agree key asks to campaign on to achieve gender equality in GM.

We are delighted to announce that this years scorecard event will be held in person in Stretford, Trafford. The event will start at 10:30 and finish at 2:30, including a lunch and opportunity for networking.

It is sure to be a brilliant platform for discussion and celebration,

Courage and Solidarity.
