Autism-Friendly Early Opening
As part of our work with Space4Autism, we’ll be holding another Autism-Friendly Early Opening at 9am on Thursday 24th February, in order to make visiting Jodrell Bank as accessible as possible.
The early opening will allow visitors with noise sensitivities the time they need to look around our exhibitions before general public opening at 10am. During this time, the volume levels of some of the exhibitions will be reduced and there will be a Calm Room available until 10:45am.
The first science show of the day will begin at 10:00am and all sudden or loud demonstrations will be clearly stated, with time for visitors to leave the room if they require. The science show building (Star Pavilion) will be open from 9:30am for visitors to familiarise themselves with the space prior to the show beginning.
Visitors are welcome to stay beyond this hour if they like, including visiting our Gift Shop and Cafe, although we do anticipate it getting busier throughout the day and the Calm Room will close at 10:45am for craft activities.
