DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intelligence\, between industrial dynamics and ind
ustrial policy\n\nIn this talk\, I will combine three of my ongoing proj
ects to offer a bird's eye view of important trajectories in AI economic
s research: whether AI is poised to follow industry-life cycle patterns\
; whether software-hardware tandems in AI and robotics are driven by spe
cific actors and business models\; whether we can quantify countries' st
ruggle to achieve technological sovereignty in AI measuring integration
of competences.\n \nAbout Simone Vannuccini:\n\nSimone Vannuccini is the
Junior Professor Chair in Economics of Artificial Intelligence and Inno
vation at GREDEG and the University Côte d'Azur (UniCA)\, Nice\, France.
There\, with his team\, he leads the research and teaching on the topic
of Economics of AI. Prof Vannuccini has been holding teaching and resea
rch positions at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) of the Universi
ty of Sussex\, Imperial College London\, the Friedrich Schiller Universi
ty Jena (Germany)\, and the University of Insubria (Italy). Prof. Vannuc
cini’s research focuses on the 'irregular regularities' of technology ev
 olution\, the economics of AI\, industrial dynamics\, science\, technolo
gy and innovation policy\, and the economics of digitalisation\n\nAbout
the Seminar:\n\nHosted by Manchester Institute of Innovation Research\,
these seminars feature visiting speakers on science\, technology\, and i
nnovation policy. This event is in person for AMBS and UoM staff and stu
dents\, with an online option available. Please feel free to share this
invitation with your internal networks.\n\nExternal participants are wel
