DESCRIPTION:This is a monthly meeting of the Mapping/GIS Innovation Club.
  \n\nInnovation Spotlight: Jonny Huck on using GIT for GIS\n\nThe purpos
 e of Mapping/GIS club activity is to allow UoM researchers to:\n\n- Pres
 ent their research and discuss sticking points that the community may be
  able to help them with\n- Find new collaboration partners from across t
 he University\n- Ask questions within the community so that members can 
 share experience/ideas to save time\n- Share ideas on funding calls that
  are relevant to the community\n- Share equipment (if free) and resource
 s\n- Discuss technology/methodology advances and provide advice on what 
 to/not to buy\n- Advertise talks that may be of interest to the communit
 y & widen participation across campus.\n\nClub Lead: Dr Jonny Huck\n\nTh
 e Innovation Clubs align closely with Digital Futures' capabilities them
 es and are targeted particularly at early career researchers. The Innova
 tion Clubs help to build communities of practice around key digital rese
 arch technologies and provide a forum for researchers to share their kno
 wledge\, experience and practical skills in these areas.\n\nThis activit
 y is also part of wider IT club activity Computation and Data in researc
 h (CaDiR).\n\n\nTo join the meetings\, please sign up via the Innovation
