Event Info: Despite the headlines, fundraising is not success for a startup. Success comes from paying customers. In this talk, we will cover how to find a problem, how to build something people want and how to find potential customers - putting you in the best place to fundraise or be profitable. After the talk, there will be a Food & Drinks reception nearby for you to meet the other founders.
Speaker Bio: Ash is an entrepreneur turned investor. He is the Managing Partner of Sterling Road, a venture fund focused on B2B companies at the earliest stages. Before founding Sterling Road, he was an advisor to Bullpen Capital and worked at Trinity Ventures. Ash has mentored hundreds of startups through accelerator programs including Y-Combinator, Techstars, Oxford, Stanford, UC Berkeley and Alchemist. Before investing, Ash was co-founder and CEO of SendHub (acquired: Cameo Global, Y-Combinator W12) and Director of Ranking at Klout (acquired: Lithium) and an Engineer at OneRiot (acquired: Walmart). Ash earned a Masters in Computer Science from Oxford, served as an Officer in the British Army, and currently resides in San Francisco.
