UID:{http://www.columbasystems.com/customers/uom/gpp/eventid/}i4h-i6j575k

DESCRIPTION:With the General Election just weeks away\, education looks s
et to be a key campaigning issue. Debates to date have focused on school
spending\, class sizes and Academy schools. How would the parties handl
e these issues if elected in May? And how would they deal with other key
issues: curriculum and assessment reforms\, the role of local authoriti
es\, teacher workload and teacher supply\, higher education funding\, or
youth apprenticeships? Does education in England need a bigger re-think
? And if so\, who will countenance it?\n\nAt this event\, local politici
ans from the three main political parties will present their education m
anifestos and debate them with a public audience.\n\nSpeakers:\nJonathan
Reynolds MP for Stalybridge and Hyde (Labour) \nLisa Smart\, Prospectiv
e Parliamentary Candidate for Hazel Grove (Liberal Democrat)\nSusan Will
iams\, Baroness Williams of Trafford (Conservative)\n\nCome and have you
r say. The event is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served fr
