DESCRIPTION:Sofia Akel presents her Insider-Outsider research examining t
 he role of race in shaping experiences of students of colour at Goldsmit
 hs\n\nSofia Akel is an education activist and researcher\, campaigning a
 nd leading work to tackle institutional racism in education\, including 
 the awarding gap\, academic pipeline and decolonising education. She has
  worked in a number of universities and students’ unions\, holding vario
 us elected\, specialist and consultancy roles. Currently\, she is leadin
 g London Metropolitan University’s race equity work for the Centre of Eq
 uity and Inclusion.\n\nSofia’s previous research Insider-Outsider (2019)
  examined the role of race in shaping the experiences of Black and minor
 ity ethnic students at Goldsmiths College and Students’ Union\, which wa
 s covered nationally in the press.\n\nThis webinar will be delivered ove
