 hester this one-off masterclass with special guest Professor Sue Parnell
  will focus on her recent article\, co-authored with Jennifer Robinson: 
 \n(Re)theorizing Cities from the Global South: Looking Beyond Neoliberal
 ism\n\nThe session will explore what we can learn from urban development
 s in the Global South and aims to bring together researchers of the Glob
 al South in particular\, and urban studies in general\, to discuss Sue P
 arnell's work and create scholarly debate on the issues of inequality\, 
 neoliberalism and urban theory.\n\nSue Parnell is Professor of Urban Geo
 graphy in the University of Cape Town. She is centrally involved in the 
 African Centre for Cities\, an interdisciplinary research and teaching p
 rogram on the dynamics of unsustainable urbanization processes in Africa
 . Her recent publications include A Routledge Handbook of Cities of the 
 South\; Africa’s Urban Revolution\; Global Urbanisation\, Biodiversity a
 nd Ecosystem Services and Climate Change at the City Scale: Impacts\, Mi
 tigation and Adaptation in Cape Town. More information on her research c
