During this time of year, we have some of the best views of Mars in the night sky.
Come and take part in our mission to Mars to find out more about this fascinating planet! We’ll explore its surface, find out how hot it is and see how different life would be from living on Earth through a variety of fun experiments and live demonstrations.
Show times: 11.30, 12.30, 2.30 – advanced bookings can only be made up until the day before. 01477 571 766. On the day, we operate a first come first served basis.
Suitable for children 5+.
Meet the Expert!
Kids have an endless fascination with science and have all kinds of questions they want answering. This session gives them the chance to speak to a real expert from Jodrell Bank and to learn more about the research carried out at the Observatory.
Time: 1.30pm drop in session every day
Planet Path Backpacks
If you fancy an outdoor adventure why not borrow one of our backpacks and complete our fun educational challenges. Backpacks contain a map, instruction sheet and activities to try as you stop at each planet along the way. Particularly suitable for children aged 4 to 10 years.
Activities are free. Normal admission applies
We are running a range of activities throughout Easter 7-11, 14-17, 22-25 April.
