DESCRIPTION:Latin American Labour Movements in times of Crisis: labour re
 forms\, far-right offensive\, and the disorganisation of the working cla
 ss\n\nThe presentation outlooks the challenges that labour movements in 
 Latin America face in the course of the global crisis\, focusing on labo
 ur reforms and rising authoritarianism by far-right governments – backed
  by significant sections of the working people. To understand the ongoin
 g perspectives\, it brings to the fore the dynamics and politics of labo
 ur movements since the consolidation of neoliberal globalisation in conn
 ection to the broader changes in the class composition of Latin America 
 societies.\n\nPresenter:\n\nJulia Soul obtained her Doctorate in Humanit
 ies – Anthropology in the University of Rosario (Argentina). She is a re
 searcher of the Labor Research Center in the National Council of Scienti
 fic and Technological Research. She has focused in Labor Anthropology an
 d has conducted research on industrial communities\, labor organizing an
 d transnationalization. Julia has published “SOMISEROS: La constitución 
 y el devenir de un grupo obrero desde una perspectiva socioantropológica
 ” as well as several chapters and contributions in edited books and inte
 rnational journals\, such as Dialectical Anthropology\, Nueva Antropolog
 ía\, Revista Latinoamericana de Sociología del Trabajo\, Sociology of Wo
 rk. Julia is also the Spanish translator of “From Tank Town to High Tech
 . The Clash of Communities and Industrial Cycles” by June Nash.\n\nThis
