DESCRIPTION:How do museums create our understandings of cultural identiti
 es\, and does migrant art generate alternative connections which cut acr
 oss such boundaries?  A rare exhibition of work by a new wave of visual 
 artists whose experiences include life as refugees in the UK engaging wi
 th objects from Manchester Museum.    \n \nThe artist-led cultural activ
 ist group Virtual Migrants brings together a sample of artists from Manc
 hester and Glasgow and a museum curator to present an interwoven set of 
 visual work\, along with two events which combine discussion with perfor
 mance.\n\nSix artists use photography\, painting and print-making to loo
 k sideways from the broken line between homeland and destination. An exh
 ibition by Virtual Migrants (Manchester)\, in partnership with Street Le
 vel Photoworks (Glasgow).  \n\nPart of Platforma National Refugee Arts F
 estival 2013 with special evening events on Thursday 10 and Wednesday 30
