DESCRIPTION:Many critiques of social media target their model of the soci
 al as being ideological in constructing a communal platform devoid of co
 llectivity and antagonism\, a pacified techno-sociality that is compatib
 le with neoliberal capitalism. The paper looks at the social enacted by 
 social media platforms. It examines it as a transcoding of the diagram o
 f social networking when it becomes incorporated in a machine of social 
 computation embedded in a digital communication infrastructure. What is 
 the relation between the diagram of social network analysis and the “hyp
 er-social” as a technical milieu of circulation that redefines the early
