Sex and Scandal at Deir el-Medina: The Stela of Hesysunebef (Acc. No. 4588) - with Anna Garnett.
The stela of Hesysunebef tells a unique story of the lives of some of the workmen who built the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. All of the men who worked on the royal tombs and their families, including Hesysunebef, lived in a village called the ‘Place of Truth’, nowadays known as Deir el-Medina. This session will bring the characters on this stela back to life to tell us more about life, love and intrigue in the workmen’s village.
