Professor Alex Potts, Visiting Pilkington Professor of Art History, will be speaking on the sculptures of Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966). Alex Potts is the Max Loehr Collegiate Professor of History of Art at the University of Michigan, and author of 'Flesh and the Ideal: Winckelmann and the Origins of Art History' (1994), 'The Sculptural Imagination: Figurative, Modernist, Minimalist' (2000), and 'Experiments in Modern Realism: World Making, Politics and the Everyday in Postwar European and American Art' (2013).
