DESCRIPTION:Join Deborah Doane\, author of ‘The INGO Problem: Power\, Pri
 vilege and Renewal’\, and Nana Asantewa Afadzinu\, Executive Director of
  the West Africa Civil Society Institute\, to discuss current challenges
  within the aid sector\, how Southern NGOs are leading calls for structu
 ral change in global development\, and whether International NGOs are ri
 sing to the challenge set. As Co-Leads of the ‘Reimagining the Internati
 onal NGO’ (RINGO project)\, they’ll share some of the successes and frus
 trations of making progress in a deeply engrained and colonial system. T
 he discussion is open to all and will give students food for thought as 
 they embark on their studies and think about a future career in developm
 ent.\n \nThe discussion will be chaired by GDI’s Professor Nicola Banks\
 , who joined them on RINGO’s Social Lab and co-founded One World Togethe
 r to transform funding for a more community-centred future.
