DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Andrew Mitchell (The Open University)\n\nTitle: Clas
sifying intrinsic ergodicity for random substitution systems\n\nAbstract
: Classifying the measures of maximal entropy for a given dynamical syst
em is an important problem in ergodic theory. In particular\, one is oft
en interested in whether the system is intrinsically ergodic\, that is\,
whether there is a unique measure of maximal entropy. In this talk\, I
will discuss some recent classification results in this direction for dy
namical systems arising from random substitutions\, which are a generali
sation of classical substitution systems and provide theoretical models
for quasicrystals with local defects. Based on joint work with Philipp G
 ohlke.\n\nRoom: Frank Adams 1\n\nFurther information: https://personalpa
