DESCRIPTION:Looking for an activity to chase away the Winter blues? Try c
 alligraphy at the Confucius Institute.\n\nOur calligraphy course is runn
 ing again from 20 February\, every Tuesday lunchtime for five weeks. Com
 e along and spend your lunch break doing something creative and mindful.
 \n\nCost: £30\nLocation: The Confucius Institute building (180 Waterloo 
 Place)\nTime: 13:00 - 13:50\n\nCalligraphy (shufa) is the traditional ar
 t of writing Chinese characters\, and a fundamental part of Chinese cult
 ure. After centuries of evolution\, calligraphy has developed into a tru
 ly unique art form. This course will focus on learning how to use Chines
 e brushes and ink\, mastering the basic strokes that underpin Chinese wr
 iting and understanding the structure of Chinese characters. Participant
 s will be introduced to regular script and practice writing calligraphy 
 in this style. \n\nNo previous knowledge of Chinese is required.\n\nDrop
