The Global Production Network, trade and labour research group will be hosting a seminar by Jose Puppim de Oliveira next Wednesday 13th June at 4 p.m. in G0.35/0.36 Arthur Lewis Building on "Environmental management, CSR, and governance in clusters of small firms in developing countries: toward an integrated analytical framework".
Jose A. Puppim de Oliveira is a faculty member at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EAESP and FGV/EBAPE), Brazil. His research interests concentrate in patterns of governance, institution building and policy implementation at different levels, looking at how global and national institutions are interlinked to local governance and action.
Although there is now embryonic literature on SMES, industrial clusters and CSR we lack the systematic, integrated analytical framework that can improve our understanding of the role that governance of clusters plays in addressing CSR concerns in SMES in developing countries.
This presentation discusses a conceptual framework drawing on the literature on cluster governance, CSR, SMES and environmental management as they relate the developing countries,
