DESCRIPTION:The University of Manchester Gateway Programme provides a new
  opportunity for Year 7-11 learners within Greater Manchester to partici
 pate in a coherent series of academic enrichment and Higher Education aw
 areness activities.\nThe Y7 University Uncovered Visit is a generic intr
 oduction to university with subject-specific taster sessions offered in 
 one of the three subject areas: \n•	Science\, Technology\, Engineering &
  Maths (STEM) \n•	Medical\, Human and Biological Sciences \n•	Humanities
 .\nStudents will be taken on a behind-the-scenes campus tour of our Oxfo
 rd Road Campus\, to include the John Rylands University Library\, the Wh
 itworth Hall and John Owens Quadrangle\, a lecture theatre & seminar roo
 m\, the Students' Union and the Refectory. Students will then take part 
 in a 2 hour session designed to introduce students to some of the subjec
 ts that can be studied at university and tests their current knowledge a
 nd their problem-solving and team-working skills\n
