Friends of the Whitworth present a series of free Sunday Concerts that are open to all. At 3pm on selected Sunday afternoons, students from the Royal Northern College of Music perform in our South Gallery, overlooking Whitworth Park. Past concerts have included classical flamenco guitar to contemporary flute. There really is something for all tastes and ages. Each concert will last around 45 minutes, and you can feel free to drop in and out.
The concerts are arranged entirely by Friends of the Whitworth.
All concerts start at 3pm. Free, no need to book.

Calla Flute Quartet – Calla flutes are a new vibrant flute quartet made up of students from the RNCM. Individually they are fine flute players, and as a group they were placed second in the Fewkes chamber prize for woodwind. In their concert you will be welcomed with some well-loved music arranged for the combination from Barber to Ravel, as well as flute favourites from the baroque and French music genres.

Paula O’Malley and Andrew Broome – Marimba and Clarinet duo will be performing Daughtrey’s Strange Dreams among other works.
Sunday 14 April 2019
