FutureDAMS is developing the knowledge base, tools and approach to better support resilient and sustainable development of large scale infrastructure in a warming world. The project is co-developing a decision-making framework and online integrated assessment toolset to help plan and design better infrastructure in complex natural resource systems, with a focus on developing countries. In this webinar, Professor Julien Harou will present the toolset for water-energy system planning, with comments from leading experts John Matthews, Claudia Ringler and Dr Roland Roesch.
The toolset links energy and river basin modelling and can optimise resource system design: analysing the synergies and trade-offs of complex systems becomes accessible and transparent, facilitating decision making, thus helping people, economies and the environment adapt and prepare for the impacts of climate change.
Following the presentation, the panellists will be sharing their wealth of experience and knowledge on nexus planning for climate adaptation and resilience, discussing how to best align energy-environment systems, with a focus on practical investment assessment and design systems.
