A showcase of leading clinical nursing research that shares the latest evidence to promote quality care and safe practice.
The lecture series is a new joint collaboration between the Florence Nightingale Foundation, The University of Manchester and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Introductory talk:
Prof Karen Luker, Head of the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, University of Manchester. ‘Nursing research: from evangelism to evidence‘.
Professor Davina Allen: ‘Organising Work’ – Nurses’ invisible contribution to healthcare quality and safety – touching the parts that management technologies cannot reach!
Professor Allen conducts research into service organisation and delivery, the complexity of healthcare organisations and systems and their link to clinical effectiveness, service quality and professional education. She is a registered general nurse having trained at Cambridge and Huntingdon School of Nursing and has recently completed a Service Improvement Fellowship with the Health Foundation.
