DESCRIPTION:This seminar is in the form of a pre-Christma entertainment.\
 n\nWe have recently learnt about the work of Desmond Henry [1921-2004] (
 see http://www.desmondhenry.com) who was an artist\, philosopher and pio
 neer in computer art.  He used wartime analogue computing devices to cre
 ate artworks and was a member of the Philosophy Department here.  He dis
 cussed morphogensis with Alan Turing and received an award from L. S. Lo
 wry.\n\nWe are planning to create a display of his work\, possibly in th
 e Kilburn Building.  There has been a recent exhibition of his work at M
 OSI.\n\nDesmond's daugher\, who keeps his archive\, is offering to give 
 us an illustrated tak about her father's work.\n\nDo come along.  Desmon
 d Henry was a very interesting character and a highly accomplished artis
 t as well as an engineer and philosopher.  If you are interested in help
 ting with a display of his work - this is an opportunity to get involved
 .\n\nThere will be an opportunity to meet the speaker at a reception aft
