Harry Potter Day
Join us in the magical surroundings of The John Rylands Library for hours of wizarding fun! At the Hogwarts school tables you can try some magical craft activities – including making your own wand, mixing mysterious potions, transfiguring yourself with face painting and solve the mystery of the Half-Blood Prince’s forbidden potion by following the hidden clues.
Come dressed as your favourite character and win a special prize! Then watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in our Historic Reading Room and join Harry for his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
This film is rated 12A: parents are advised that it may contain scenes that are not suitable for younger children. The activities are most suitable for children aged 8-12, but all are welcome to come along and enjoy the day. Our cafe will be open throughout the day, and a picnic area will be available for anyone bringing their own lunch. No food or drinks can be taken into the historic building. (film will be shown 1pm - 4pm)
