DESCRIPTION:(via Zoom)\nJoin us for this seminar by Christian Bick (Exete
 r) as part of the North West Seminar Series in Mathematical Biology and
Data Sciences. Details of the full series can be found here https://www.
 cms.livjm.ac.uk/APMSeminar/\n\nPlease contact carl.whitfield@manchester.
ac.uk or Mirela.Domijan@liverpool.ac.uk for the zoom link\, or sign up t
o the mailing list.\n\nAbstract: Many processes in nature and technology
can be modeled as networks of interacting oscillatory processes. In man
y cases\, the underlying network structure is not static but evolves ove
r time. Specifically\, the network dynamics and the dynamics of the unde
rlying network can interact. In this talk we look at two specific exampl
es of dynamics on evolving networks. First\, we look at network evolutio
n that is fast compared to the network dynamics leading to a state-depen
dent network: For example\, neural oscillators can be insensitive to new
input in certain states\, leading to effective 'deactivation' of networ
k connections. Second\, we look at network evolution that is slow compar
e to the network dynamics. Specifically\, we look at damage processes in
\nneurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and how they in
teract with the network dynamics as the disease evolves.\n\nTo subscribe
