The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) Speaker Series is a regular student-focused forum that draws on the expertise of a range of academics, researchers and practitioners both within HCRI and more widely, covering a broad range of humanitarian-related issues and contexts. It is an opportunity to learn from and interact with scholars and practitioners in an informal and intimate environment in order to gain insights from people's own experiences.
On Tuesday 7 October 2014 we will be joined by Jane Cocking, Humanitarian Director, Oxfam GB. Jane will give an insight into her background and how she came to be in her current role, and then talk on a topic which interests her and which she believes is important for those embarking on working in the humanitarian sector.
The session will be an hour's talk by Jane Cocking, followed by an hour for questions from the intimate audience. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage with a leader in the field of humanitarianism, in an informal and friendly environment.
