DESCRIPTION:This session is suitable for PhD students.  A separate sessio
 n for MA/MSC students is being held on 13 March 2017\n\nThis course aims
  to improve academic writing. It will provide students with tips for goo
 d academic writing and strategies for the writing process. The first hal
 f of the course will involve small group work and class discussion. Stud
 ents will be asked to reflect on and share their experiences of the writ
 ing process. They will then be given writing excerpts to analyse in orde
 r to introduce\, and consider the impact of\, different writing styles.\
 n\nCourse objectives\n1. To introduce and consider different writing sty
 les\n2. To encourage students to think about their reader when writing\n
