Experience Manchester Museum like never before, be taken on an afterhours tour of our Vivarium, Living Worlds & Nature's Library and hear from amazing women working in nature. To accompany this we will have the first of our monthly musical takeovers led by MCR live https://www.mcr.live/, providing a full female DJ line up, plus creative workshops and more.

Afterhours tour, with a difference - Your guides for the evening will be a collective of fascinating women who will share their unique insights in nature. Hosted by our first female director Esme Ward and Francine Hayfron, Cultural Park Keeper at the Whitworth.

• Welsh artist and Phd Researcher Kathryn Ashill. Ashill describes herself as an ‘art witch’; suggesting embodied knowledges, the complex relationship the world has to women and power and her ability to make the everyday mythical and magical. • Kasha Majewski - Kasia is a Canadian ecologist working as the Curatorial Assistant at the Manchester Museum Vivarium and assists with the world renowned collection of rare and endangered Central American frogs • Poet, Nancy Campbell has had a series of residencies with Arctic research institutions between 2010 and 2017 has resulted in many projects responding to cultural and climate change in the polar regions and water conservation. • You will also hear from our very own Botanist, Rachel Webster who will take you on a journey, exploring our rich and varied botany collection.

As part of our Women in Nature event take part in our hapa zome workshop, led by textile artist, Natalie Linney www.talielinseed.co.uk There will be two half hour workshops, at 7:30pm and 8:15pm.Please be aware that a £5 minimum donation applies, on the evening please arrive early as places are limited.
