DESCRIPTION:In this CoDE lunchtime seminar\, Yunis Alam from the Universi
ty of Bradford shares his research. \n\nIn this talk I will be exploring
a range of themes linked with insider research\, ethnography and the ex
tent to which research can be a political venture. I will also be speaki
ng about owning and being committed to research\, which may be especiall
y relevant to those undertaking postgraduate study in which marginality
is a key feature. Within the broader sweep of this talk\, I will make re
ference to the academy’s current interest in ‘decoloniality’\, inclusion
and diversity more generally. The talk may be of particular interest to
those who may find value in challenging norms and expectations in order
to disrupt the dominant academic culture. \n\nIn person and online (see
eventbrite for more details and registration).
